GTCC Summer Institute 2009

Workshop 0911

TITLE:

Science: Inquiry, Measurement, and Discovery

DESCRIPTION:

In this workshop participants will engage in numerous hands-on activities which model the first demand of the Montana Standards for Science, that is: “Through the inquiry process, demonstrate the ability to design, conduct, evaluate, and communicate the results and form reasonable conclusions of scientific investigations.” Teachers will learn first-hand how to immerse their students in object based inquiry, and thereby encourage them to become more inquisitive, observant, and reflective.  Activities in this dynamic class will be drawn from physical science, chemistry, and life sciences.  Come learn how to adapt this energizing philosophy to diverse subjects and grade levels.
