Workshop 0920

TITLE:

Playing with Numbers = Increased Understanding in Mathematics

DESCRIPTION:

Number sense refers to the intuitive feel for numbers, and the ability to compute accurately and efficiently, detect errors, and recognize results as reasonable.  Students without number sense often struggle with higher level mathematics.  This workshop will provide you with strategies and activities to develop and enhance the number sense of your students.  You will learn to assess students’ current level of understanding and plan instruction based upon your assessments.  Leave this workshop with a substantial number of “tools” to add your own teaching toolbox!
