TITLE:
Batik: Integrating the New Arts’ Standards
DESCRIPTION:
This class is designed as an introduction to the fundamentals of Batik Art. Student will work in the ancient media of applying design on color onto fabric. This art form belongs to the people of Bali and Indonesia. Hot wax/cold water dye on unbleached muslin. Three projects will be completed in the course using reverse color application, the removal of wax.

CREDIT:
15 OPI renewal units OR 1 graduate credit through Montana State University-Northern. MSU-N will charge $150.00 for this credit which is paid at the workshop.
EXPENSES:
Participants will be responsible for travel, lodging, and meals.
REGISTRATION POLICY:
$40.00 per participant if GTCC member / $100.00 per participant if not a GTCC member.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:
Wear old clothing and shoes, dyes are permanent. Please bring a lot of black and white newspapers, no colored ads or waxy papers.
