Workshop 1922

TITLE:

Code.org Computer Science Fundamentals

DESCRIPTION:

The Code.org Computer Science Fundamentals workshop will provide an introduction to computer science and pedagogy, as well as an overview of the Code.org online curriculum, teacher dashboard and strategies for teaching “unplugged” classroom activities. This workshop will provide educators with basic computer science understanding and confidence to teach Code.org A-F curriculum in their classrooms and libraries. Even teachers with low and no technology in their classrooms will be able to implement computer science concepts into their classrooms, as teachers will have access to unplugged activities and resources to begin teaching coding in their classrooms. This workshop will be very hands-on and teachers will have the opportunity to explore online puzzles, complete unplugged challenges, as well as play with other coding tools and resources. Educators will leave with an understanding of the importance of CS for all students, and a plan for starting to teach computer science fundamentals to their students.
