Workshop: 2104

TITLE:

PBL - What?

DESCRIPTION:

Busy classroom teachers, would you like to take an idea and create a lesson plan that will fit more than one area of the curriculum? This two day course will provide the time and ideas with colleagues to create not one, but three lesson plans that you will be able to take back and utilize. PBL (project based learning) has morphed over time spanning the 1970’s to now. Each day we will begin with discussion, look at the research and then time to work on a project that you will then create a lesson plan to fit your classroom. Collaborating online, we will work on three lessons together. These could be a unit, a culminating activity for a unit or taking that wild idea you have had, but not the time to create a project for, and going for it! As this is a virtual class, the sky's the limit. Make sure you have at least 10 tissue tubes, popsicle sticks, and other types of materials that you have on hand and wonder, how can I use these in my classroom? What about packing materials - peanuts, paper, etc? A glue gun will be handy, as well as duct tape!
