TITLE:
Cyanotypes: Nature's Blueprints
DESCRIPTION:
Cyanotypes are an easy darkroom-free exploration of the photographic process that can be adapted to any grade level. In this process, objects are laid onto prepared paper and exposed to the sun. Finished prints exhibit ghostly, white shadows of the objects against a deep indigo background. Participants will learn about the history of cyanotypes and then experiment with making their own. On the first day, we will cover how to prepare and coat cyanotype surfaces, exposure tips, and the development process. On the second day, participants will expose their cyanotypes, develop their images, and reflect on their experiments.

Requirements outlined in this syllabus are only for those taking the class for college credit.
OPI Renewal Units OR Continuing Education Credits (through MSU-Northern) will be available. 1 summer semester credit for a 2-day workshop. Price is $150.00 and will be paid at the workshop.
EXPENSES:
Participants will be responsible for travel, lodging, and meals.
REGISTRATION POLICY:
$40.00 per participant if GTCC member / $100.00 per participant if not a GTCC member.
