Workshop 205

TITLE:

Online Learning Course Creation Tips

DESCRIPTION:

Teaching online isn’t easy; neither is being a student.: In this course, we will see what online learning looks and feels like from a student’s perspective and learn tips on how we teachers can help create assignments that better fit a totally online class.

We will first do a series of assignments and quizzes as a student and discuss the hardships this type of learning creates for potential students. Then we will create lessons that go beyond posting worksheets, lessons that are designed with online learning in mind.

We will use Google Classroom for our platform as we work though the coursework; however, we will take a look at Moodle and its advanced tools to see how it may be a better fit for a totally online environment if the school provides this platform.  We will also discuss webinar software and compare.
