In this course, participants will be reminded about the importance of play and early numeracy in our youngest learners. Participants will also learn the combined integral role of both play and early numeracy in our young learners’ future mathematical (and academic) success. Numeracy development can (and should) take place in a developmentally appropriate and playful way. Come spill the beans, roll the dice, deal the cards, and get playfully engaged in mathematical tasks that will help your students see themselves as the mathematicians they are. Throughout this course, participants will also learn how these strategies will support young learners to meet developmental milestones and academic standards.
