Workshop: 2128
TITLE:
Creative Writers Through Assessment 6+1 Traits
DESCRIPTION:
Expressing oneself in written communication continues to be one of the top skills required in all professions. Disciplinary literacy in any field asks our students to respond in writing for many purposes and audiences. Creating student writers from K-12 is a top priority in our schools. During this course, the latest assessment tools (rubrics), most recently developed, as well as a wide range of strategies for use in our classroom will be modeled. Review, refresh, and revitalize the power of the 6+1 Trait model as it supports developing strong, confident writers. The latest revised rubrics as well as step by step revision strategies with teacher guides will be provided. Highly active, engaging activities model a collaborative classroom environment. Come join us as we enjoy learning together!
