TITLE:
Introduction to Welding
DESCRIPTION:
This is an introductory course that is geared toward anyone that has zero, or very limited, welding experience. Participants can expect to experience oxy/acetylene cutting and welding, shielded metal "arc" welding (SMAW), plasma cutting, MIG welding, and possibly TIG welding. Best practices in safety and proper use of common metal shop tools will be part of this course. Welding first-timers are highly encouraged to attend this course.

Requirements outlined in this syllabus are only for those taking the class for college credit.
OPI Renewal Units OR Continuing Education Credits (through MSU-Northern) will be available. 1 summer semester credit for a 2-day workshop. Price is $150.00 and will be paid at the workshop.
EXPENSES:
Participants will be responsible for travel, lodging, and meals.
REGISTRATION POLICY:
$40.00 per participant if GTCC member / $100.00 per participant if not a GTCC member.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:
Participants need: leather, closed-toe shoes/boots, pants & long-sleeved shirt made from natural materials. All other PPE will be provided, including hearing protection & safety glasses.
